This small bird lives in forests and mangroves along Australia's east coast. Its muted grey-brown plumage includes a white eyebrow and patterned tail.
Its upperparts are olive-grey or brown, with a pale grey face and underparts and brown flanks. It has a white eyebrow, reddish-brown iris, and a white-tipped tail crossed by a dark band.
It uses thick cover in mountain and coastal rainforest and mangroves, and eats insects. Its rounded dome nest is made from roots, plant material, moss, and spider web; both parents feed the young.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
