The black-winged little yellow bat ranges from southern Mexico into northern Central America. The edges of its range remain uncertain.
Its back fur has two color bands, and most of the flight membrane is bare. The short ears are triangular with rounded tips.
Pregnant females were recorded in Central America from February to April. These are regional capture records, not evidence that breeding follows the same calendar everywhere.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
