This small bird is restricted to forests in southwestern Madagascar. Species accounts describe it searching for arthropods on the ground and low branches, sometimes in small family groups.
Adults have gray-olive upperparts and tail, a blue-gray crown and neck, pale eyebrow and white chin and throat. The underparts are yellow, brighter on the flanks and whitish at the centre of the belly. Both sexes are similar.
It searches for arthropods on or near the ground, including leaf litter and low branches. It may pursue insects that take flight and has been reported feeding in family groups of 2–8 or mixed-species flocks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
