The current name is Phylloscopus tephrocephalus. This small leaf warbler has gray and black crown stripes, breeds from northern Myanmar and southwestern China to northern Thailand, and winters in Indochina.
A bright gray stripe runs down the middle of the crown, with a black stripe on each side. The thin eye-ring is broken at the rear.
It is recorded in montane forest above 2,000 m and forages for insects in the understory, often making short flights. The species account notes that little has been recorded about its diet.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
