The bare-bellied hedgehog is marked by short spines on its back and a white underside. A survey in southern India recorded it sheltering in shrubs by day and foraging from evening into night.
Its dorsal spines are short and sharp, while the underside is covered with soft white fur.
It rests among shrubs during the day and searches for food from evening into the night. The study recorded small animal prey, including insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
