This horseshoe bat is recorded in southern China, including Xishuangbanna in Yunnan. The University of Bristol account describes caves as usual roosts and reports some individuals using tree hollows in tropical forest there.
The back is brown, sometimes ochraceous, while the underside ranges from brown to cream-buff.
Caves are described as usual roosts, but a survey in tropical forest at Xishuangbanna also found some individuals in hollow tree trunks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
