This bat is recorded in the mountains of Uttarakhand, northern India. A study published in 2020 reports one individual caught over a brook in subalpine forest at Shokharakh.
The captured individual had shaggy fur and relatively short ears. Its tragus was broad, short, curved forward, and its forehead slightly bulging. The hind feet were very small, less than half the tibia length.
Researchers captured one bat flying over a brook in subalpine forest. This does not prove it usually forages over streams.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
