This sifaka lives in southeastern Madagascar. It clings to tree trunks and leaps between trees with its long hind legs.
Its coat is black or dark brown, and some individuals have white patches on the back or hind legs. The face is black and the eyes are orange-red.
It usually lives in family groups of about three to nine and clings to trunks before leaping between trees. Fruit is a main food, with leaves, seeds, and flowers also eaten seasonally.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
