The Taiwan Scimitar Babbler is endemic to Taiwan. It has a pale face marked with dark head stripes and uses its long, downcurved bill to search low vegetation and forest edges.
The head is mostly pale, with a black crown stripe and dark stripe through the eye. The bill is long and curves downward.
The park account places it below 1,500 m in forest edges, roadside thickets, and tall grass, where it searches near the ground for seeds, fruit, and insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
