The Guianan Bonneted Bat occurs in the northern Amazon region and has also been recorded in several parts of Brazil. A 2006 report added definite records from Tocantins, Goiás, and São Paulo.
Its fur is dark chocolate brown, with a narrow strip of white hair along each side of the body. Males have a throat sac that is very small or absent in females.
At two Cerrado study sites in Brazil, bats were captured at roosts in palm leaves.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
