A Philippine flowerpecker that feeds on fruit and nectar.
Adults have a grey throat and upper breast without a black breast band. A narrow red stripe runs down the centre of the breast and belly.
It takes fruit and nectar. In a Cebu forest, it was observed eating mistletoe fruit and wiping its bill on a branch, leaving seeds there.
Compared with Dicaeum haematostictum, its bill is broader and deeper and curves less strongly.
Juveniles have a grey belly and flanks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
