This broad-nosed bat is recorded along western Andean slopes from northern Peru to western Ecuador, including lowland forest sites in Ecuador.
The 2005 description gives it a light-brown back and brownish underside; the narrow dorsal stripe matches the facial stripes in color.
A 2010 survey reported specimens from western Ecuador lowland forests, including Bosque Protector Cerro Blanco and Reserva Ecológica Manglares Churute.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
