This small fruit-eating bat occurs in western Colombia and Ecuador. It has furry feet and a short, narrow tail membrane, and often uses the lower levels of forests.
Its back is dark brown to blackish, its tail membrane is narrow (under 5 mm at the center), and its feet are furry. The calcaneus is short, about half the length of the foot.
It mainly eats fruit and may also eat seeds and insects. It tends to use lower forest layers and can shelter under large leaves. A 2026 diet study recorded fruit from several plant families, including Piper and Araceae.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
