A monkey restricted to forests of western Java. It eats leaves and shoots and spends much of the day resting.
Its coat is glossy slate-grey to black, with whitish fur sometimes present on the ears, chest, and lower legs. Females may have a yellow-white pubic patch. The long tail is not prehensile.
A 2016 preliminary survey in Pangandaran found the langurs resting for more than half of daytime observations. Adults spent more time resting and feeding, while juveniles spent more time moving and playing.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
