The Annamese langur occurs in Indochina. Its coat is generally silvery gray, with black hands and feet; the head hair forms a cap-like hood rather than a central crest. A study of one group on Takou Mountain recorded a diet dominated by young leaves, with fruit also important.
The body and flanks are silvery gray, with black forearms, hands, and feet. Sparse white hairs occur on the chin, throat, underside, and inner limbs; the tail is black above and silvery gray below. Head hair forms a cap or hood rather than a central crest. The eye area can appear pale or flesh-colored.
At Takou Nature Reserve, researchers observed one group of 18 from 2009 to 2011. Feeding records were about 55% immature leaves and 30% fruit; the group mainly used evergreen forest on the upper slopes. The paper says the species’ ecology remains poorly known.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
