The Sulphur-breasted Parakeet is recorded in northern Brazil. Its 2005 description used the name Aratinga pintoi; a later taxonomic paper explains that name as a synonym of Aratinga maculata.
The head and underparts are pale yellow with orange, while the green wing coverts are washed with pale yellow. Its long tail is graduated.
Observations in Pará and Amapá found flocks in pasture and secondary growth, feeding on fruits including açaí, cashew, and Inga. Recorded flocks contained 2–14 birds, averaging eight.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
