The Spectacled Petrel is dark, with white markings around its eyes, and ranges over the South Atlantic. Its only known breeding site is Inaccessible Island in the Tristan da Cunha group.
Its plumage is black, with white markings on the face. The yellow bill has a dark tip, but the amount of dark coloring varies.
At sea it feeds mainly on squid, along with crustaceans and small fish. On land it breeds each year in burrows in the wet vegetation of Inaccessible Island.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
