The Black-crowned Babbler is a small bird of moist lowland forest in the Philippines. It moves slowly through foliage while foraging.
It has a grey-brown back, pale underparts and a small black crest. The cheeks are rusty and the throat yellowish. The sexes look alike; juveniles have a brownish crown.
It uses moist lowland-forest undergrowth and slowly searches lower branches and foliage, including around dead leaves caught in small trees. The account says its diet is unknown, so no food list is inferred.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
