This small bristly mouse is recorded from eastern Panama. Grooved, black-tipped bristles mix with orange-rufous hairs on its back. Natural-history records are sparse, and early surveys document only a few localities.
The back has grooved, black-tipped bristles mixed with slender orange-rufous hairs. The underside is white; the tail is dark above and dark all around near its tip.
A 1916 Panama survey collected two individuals at Tacarcuna. The genus was not encountered at other sites in that survey.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
