The Robin Accentor lives in high mountains from the Himalayas to central China. In summer it uses wet scrub and grassland; in winter it searches for food among lower rocky sites and similar habitats.
Adults have a gray head and throat, brown upperparts with black streaks, and a rusty-red breast and upper belly. The belly is pale cream.
It uses high-altitude marshy scrub and willows near lakes and rivers, mainly at about 3,500–5,500 m.
It searches on the ground for small seeds and invertebrates. In winter it becomes more social and may move to lower elevations.
The sexes look alike. Young birds have dark streaks on the head and throat and dark markings on the breast.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
