This small bat of New Guinea's central highlands has very large ears for its body size. High-elevation forest records exist, but the species remains poorly known.
Measurements compiled from most known specimens give a forearm length of 35–41 mm, body mass of 4.0–8.5 g, and ears of 20–24 mm. It is described as small, with very large ears and very short canines.
A 2008 survey captured a male and a female during the same work in forest at 3,315 m. This single event does not establish pair or group behaviour.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
