This small bat ranges from Mexico into South America and catches insects while flying over forests and water.
Its fur is long and silky. Dark brown hair bases and lighter brown tips can give the back a golden look, although the pale tips are less distinct in some specimens.
It begins activity soon after sunset and eats nocturnal insects and other arthropods. It forages over forests and water, including by flying just above the surface of water.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
