Records of the Indochinese Myotis include Vietnam, Laos, and China; a 2026 paper added the first confirmed Indian records from Mizoram. Its back is dark brown and the underside is lighter.
The dorsal fur is relatively long and dark brown, with lighter tips on some crown hairs. The underside has dark bases and yellowish-brown tips, making it look lighter.
Specimens used in the original description were caught in mist nets across a large stream in secondary forest near Loa village, Vietnam. In 2025, two males were caught in a harp-trap set across a dry stream bed at Reiek, Mizoram, at 1,260 m.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
