The Austral Parakeet is green with red patches. It forms flocks in Andean and Patagonian forests and feeds on seeds and tree fruits.
Most of its body is green, with red feathers on the head and belly. The extent of red varies by area of the body and between individuals.
It eats seeds and tree fruits and lives in flocks. In winter it may move to lower elevations, and it nests in tree cavities.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
