This long-fingered bat usually has strongly rufous fur. A 2024 survey recorded captures at Bonleu Village and Mutis Nature Reserve on the Indonesian part of Timor Island.
HMW describes most specimens as strongly rufous. In the type specimen, the head, nape, and upper back are rufous-brown, while the lower back is chocolate-brown; hairs on the underside have chocolate-brown bases and rufous tips.
During an overnight trapping survey on Timor in 2024, one individual was recorded at Bonleu Village and 19 at Mutis Nature Reserve. Each site was sampled for one night, with nets set before sunset and closed before sunrise. These are captures on those survey nights, not estimates of the regional population.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
