The Atlantic Yellow-nosed Albatross is a South Atlantic seabird. Adults have a yellow ridge on the dark bill and a pale head and body. It breeds on islands in the Tristan da Cunha group and takes prey from the sea surface.
Adults have a yellow ridge on the mostly black bill, a white head and body, a dark eye patch, and black upper wings and back. Adults tend to have a grayer head than Indian Yellow-nosed Albatrosses, but the guide says this is not always reliable. Juveniles have an all-black bill and can be difficult to distinguish from that species.
At sea it seizes prey at the surface and sometimes dives. It may also feed alongside marine mammals or large fish that bring baitfish to the surface.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
