The Common Yellowthroat is a small bird that searches low vegetation for insects and spiders. Adult males and females have different facial markings.
Adult males have a yellow throat and a prominent black face mask. Females have a brownish head without the mask and a yellow throat and breast; the brightness of yellow varies by region.
In dense, low vegetation near the ground, it gleans insects and spiders from leaves, branches and other surfaces.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
