This small fruit-eating bat occurs in Ecuador, Peru, and Bolivia, mainly in the Andes. The 2015 account uses Artibeus glaucus; this entry follows the current Mammal Diversity Database name, Dermanura glauca.
Its fur is dark brown, its facial stripes are indistinct, and the pale edging on its ears is subtle. The dorsal fur extends a little beyond the rear edge of the tail membrane.
The account describes it as a canopy-fruit feeder and reports a roost beneath cut Xanthosoma leaves in Ecuador.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
