The brown tent-making bat eats fruit and roosts in tents made from leaves. It ranges from western Mexico to southeastern Brazil.
Its facial and dorsal stripes are often poorly defined. The underside is gray-furred, although coat color and the visibility of the back stripe vary.
It is frugivorous. It makes tent-like roosts by bending leaflets on large pinnate leaves, using leaves of both native and cultivated plants.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
