A large sunbird relative with a long curved bill and streaked plumage, it searches for nectar and small invertebrates.
Its yellow-green body has streaked upperparts and yellow underparts, along with a long, curved black bill.
In hill and montane forest it gleans small animals from foliage and probes flowers for nectar.
