A wild pig of western and central African forests, savannas and wetlands that becomes active after dusk.
It has a reddish coat with white markings and long tassels on its ears. It can also raise facial and mane hairs to look larger.
It lives in groups and searches for roots and fallen fruit. It may also eat lizards, snakes and bird eggs, and it is a good swimmer.
