This small opossum is known from eastern Paraguay and adjacent central-western Brazil. Its mid-back is darker, becoming paler toward the flanks and belly.
The mid-dorsum is gray-brown, the flanks are paler, and the underside is whitish. The tail has a pale tip.
Capture records include tree-rich Cerrado in Brazil and second-growth forest in Paraguay. The paper cautions that capture sites alone do not establish habitat preference.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
