Orces's Long-tongued Bat was described from Ecuador's Chocó region. At the time of the original description, the only known specimen was a female caught in very humid premontane forest at Los Pambiles.
The back is pale brown, darkest on the head; the shorter underside is paler yellowish gray-brown. The ears, noseleaf, tragus, and interfemoral membrane are blackish, with a long narrow snout and long interfemoral membrane.
The holotype was netted on a small, flat, densely forested river terrace beside the Río Piedras at Los Pambiles in Cotacachi-Cayapas Ecological Reserve. The paper classifies the site as very humid premontane forest.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
