Bishop's Slender Opossum ranges across western Amazonia in Brazil, Peru, and Bolivia, with records extending into Colombia, Ecuador, Andean foothills, and the Cerrado. It has been collected in lowland and premontane forests and in gallery forest within savanna landscapes.
The Peru survey describes smoky-brown upperparts and white ventral fur with gray bases. A white median strip is visible, while dark eye rings may be indistinct.
In the Peru survey it was captured only in primary forest, and most captures were in traps set on the ground.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
