In a January–August 2021 survey at three reserves in north-western Pichincha, bats identified as this species were captured in naturally or assisted-regenerating secondary forest and cattle pasture, but not in primary forest. Fecal samples contained seeds from plants including Piper aduncum, Psychotria, and Solanum.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
