This white-eye occurs on Enggano Island, Indonesia. Finsch’s 1901 account described olive-yellow upperparts and a clear white eye-ring. A 2020 field visit reported the Enggano population in vegetation near beaches and shorelines.
The upperparts are olive-yellow, with a clear white eye-ring and a black line that runs from the front of the eye beneath it. The chin, throat, thighs, and undertail coverts are bright yellow. The breast and remaining underparts are gray, paling and becoming faintly yellow toward the center.
During a March 2020 field visit, observers reported that the Enggano population was still easy to see in suitable habitat, especially in vegetation near beaches or shorelines.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
