This white-eye is endemic to Rennell Island in the Solomon Islands. Bare bluish-grey skin around the eye forms only a weak eye-ring.
It is about 12 cm long. The upperparts are olive-green and the underparts yellowish green, brightest on the throat. The sexes look alike.
It searches for prey along trunks and branches in moist lowland forest, regrowth, and scrub. It also eats small seeds and fruit as well as insects.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
