This saki monkey was described from Amazonas, Brazil. The original description records coat differences between males and females; the holotype came from floodplain forest.
Males are black with sparse white hair tips, a short dark ruff below the throat, and a white arch beside the face. Females are also black with sparse white tips, but have white hands and feet as well as the facial arch.
The original description says the male holotype was collected in várzea, a river-flooded forest, at Uarini in Amazonas. This is one habitat record, not an observation of behavior or diet.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
