The equatorial saki is a long-furred, tree-dwelling monkey. In a Peruvian Amazon study, family groups were recorded eating mainly ripe fruit.
Its coat is long and gray-brown on the back and sides. A Peruvian species profile describes males as having a short, dense, cream-colored crown and females a longer, brownish crown coat.
A study followed two family groups in the Peruvian Amazon and recorded them eating mostly ripe fruit from 48 plant species during the study period.
