This small fruit-eating bat occurs in Amazonian parts of northern South America. It has soft brown fur, a narrow white dorsal line, and white facial stripes.
Its fur is dense and soft, dark to pale brown above and dark gray below. A narrow white line runs from the crown to the base of the tail membrane, and several fine white lines cross the face. The noseleaf is large and spear-shaped; the ears are large and rounded.
It is nocturnal and feeds almost entirely on fruit, including figs and Vismia. Records come from primary, secondary, altered, and gallery forests and forest edges at 150–1,300 m; the treatment says it prefers humid forest and is rarely recorded in dry forest.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
