This large horseshoe bat is recorded in New Guinea. A survey in Papua New Guinea’s YUS Conservation Area captured 60 individuals between 250 m and 1,550 m.
The noseleaf has a rounded, hairy tip that rises above the head and a white stripe down to the lip. The fur has medium-brown tips over a lighter gray-brown base.
The YUS survey captured or detected this bat across a broad elevational range. A Papua New Guinea environmental assessment lists it among species with cave roosts.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
