The Pale-throated Wren-Babbler is a small bird recorded in mountain forests of northern Vietnam and southern China. At about 11–12 cm, its dark scale-like markings help identify it.
It is mostly gray-brown with dark scaling. Males have a white throat; females have a buff-rufous throat and browner breast and flanks.
It is listed as sedentary in dense forest around 1,400–2,500 m and as a terrestrial invertebrate eater. The sources checked do not provide a detailed prey list or breeding account.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
