This tenrec has a long prehensile tail and elongated hind feet. It lives in dense vegetation in northern and eastern Madagascar.
Thomas's 1882 description characterizes the fur as long and soft, dark slate-blue with brown tips on the back, and fawn-colored underneath. The tail is more than twice the head-and-body length. ADW also notes a grasping tail and elongated hind feet and toes.
It is nocturnal and climbs in areas with dense vegetation.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
