The white-bellied slender opossum has dull reddish-brown dorsal fur. In a lowland Peruvian rainforest study, it was recorded in both terrestrial and lower arboreal small-mammal communities.
Its dorsal fur is dull reddish brown, and the pale fur on the backs of the hands and feet does not strongly contrast with the digits.
In a southeastern Peruvian lowland rainforest, it was captured in both terrestrial and lower arboreal communities. The study's arboreal traps sampled below the canopy, at less than three meters.
