This horseshoe bat was described from the Misotschi-Kabogo Highlands of eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. The paper records a streamside clearing in a deep valley and nearby highland sites.
The described specimens had somewhat woolly, smoky-brown fur above, a slightly grayer underside, and a dark-gray noseleaf.
The holotype was captured in a streamside clearing in a deep valley; dense forest with 40–50 m trees covered the surrounding slopes.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
