The Yellow-shouldered Amazon is a parrot with a green body and a conspicuous yellow head. It eats fruit and seeds in dry scrub in northern Venezuela and nearby islands.
Adults have a green body with fine black feather edges, a white forehead, and yellow extending from the crown around the eyes and onto the cheeks.
In the wild it eats fruit, seeds, and flowers and uses dry scrub with cacti and thorny bushes on the Venezuelan mainland.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
