The Orinoco sword-nosed bat has a long, pointed noseleaf and was recorded at three sites in the northern Colombian Amazon. Detailed information about its way of life remains limited.
The Colombian paper describes this species as having a lance-shaped projection on the noseleaf and small papillae along the front of the ear.
The Colombian study reports little ecological information for this species and treats a possible link between its distribution and isolated rock outcrops as a hypothesis.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
