The Chiribiquete Sword-nosed Bat was described from Chiribiquete National Natural Park in Colombia. Its long noseleaf is distinctive; the original authors suggested that nearby lowland rocky outcrops may be its habitat.
It has a very large noseleaf longer than the skull, broad at the base. In the type specimen, dorsal hairs are white at the base and sepia-colored distally; long olive-brown hairs occur on the chest.
The original paper reports the holotype from an inselberg formation near the Río Mesay at 340 m, and the other three type specimens from the same locality. It gives no roosting or foraging observations.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
