Setophaga aestiva is the migratory northern form of the Yellow Warbler. It breeds in North America and moves to Central and South America for winter; the resident mangrove form is now treated separately.
Adult males are buttery yellow with chestnut streaks on the breast. Females and immature birds are generally paler and less strongly streaked.
It gleans insects from leaves and slender branches. Breeding birds favour wet thickets and willows, then migrate south for the non-breeding season.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
