This small warbler is endemic to Puerto Rico. A 2016 paper also reports observations on St. Thomas and St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
It is a small, brightly colored warbler. Yellow underparts extend onto the belly, a field mark used to distinguish it from similar species.
It lives in thickets in woods and scrub, actively taking insects from leaves and twigs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
